THREE-MONTH SPIRITUALITY PROGRAMME

January 14th - April 8th, 2011

3M Group on a break

A somewhat more relaxing and meditative sabbatical than our autumn programme. The centre of the programme is the experience of the full 30 day individually guided Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius, held in silence.

School of Prayer
There are two weeks lead-in to the Exercises. After a time of introduction to the programme, we begin a very practical few days of working through different methods and helps to prayer. Even for those who are experienced in prayer God has a way of surprising with something new. Further Details

Personality Shadow and Prayer
Our next week Anne Morris leads us in a consideration of our own personalities using the Myers-Briggs personality types as foundation. This course moves deeper than the basic identification of personality types to see how personality can help in prayer and relationships. Further Details

Full Spiritual Exercises
We move through the Spiritual Exercises in its full 30-day form. After the Exercises there is a little time to reflect and gather fruit. Further Details

The Dynamic of the Exercises
We consider the Spiritual Exercises, Ignatian Spirituality and discernment.

The Natural World - God in all things
Two days of exploration of our relationship to the natural world led by Mary Colwell. Further Details

Spirituality and Social Justice
A Seminar led by Fr Peter McVerry, who is well known in Ireland for his willingness to speak out on radio, television and in the newspapers about social justice issues; he runs homes for young people. Over three days he will focus on issues of Social Justice and how they link with Christian Spirituality. Further Details

Go out to the whole world
Finally we look at how to take Ignatian Spirituality to parishes through weeks of guided prayer and a consideration of the 19th annotation retreat in daily life.
The group experience of the three-month course is always most enriching. This year this 3M group will be joined by others taking up sections of the programme.
