Rail Pricing virgin train

When travelling from London the cost of tickets varies dramatically. For example a 1st Class return from London to Rhyl can cost up to £330, a full price Standard Return is £220 - while a Value ticket can cost £33.

Virgin Value tickets have to be purchased in advance. They can be purchased on the internet and collected from Euston Station provided you have the Credit Card you booked it with, but there does not seem to be the facility to register for the website from outside the UK; you can try using St Beuno's address.
Virgin Value tickets from London are booked as two singles and the cheapest price is £16.50.
Value tickets are only valid for a the journey booked and cannot be transfered. Therefore they are not advisable if you are hoping to catch the train direct from a flight. (Who knows when you will arrive through baggage claim and customs?)

Saver Return tickets can be purchased on the day of travel and used on any off-peak train. Enquire when booking if a Saver Return is valid on the train you wish to travel on. This is particularly important if you plan to leave Euston before 9.30am or between 4pm and 6.30pm. If these tickets are booked in advance on the internet the off-peak restriction doesn't seem to apply. Book Tickets Online

Standard Return tickets from London are exorbitant and should be avoided if at all possible. From Manchester or Liverpool the difference between Standard and Saver Returns is not that big.

Rhyl Buss

Bus Travel

There are no convenient through bus services from any of the airports. National Express run one bus a day from London Victoria to Rhyl and it takes more than 5 hours. Bus Services in Britain tend to be for short distances only or between major cities. Local services are run by so many different companies it is difficult to find information about them.
