Nurturing Creation - Stewards of God's Realm

Monday 12-Friday 16 May 2008

David Birchall SJ

And God saw everything that was made;
and behold, it was very good.

Beuno's in May will be an excellent setting to enjoy God's creation.

Earth from Challenger

Bluebell Woods in St Beuno's

The world is charged with the grandeur of God,
It will flame out, like shining from shook foil;
It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil
Crushed, Why do men then now not reck his rod?
Generations have trod, have trod, have trod;
And all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil;
And wears man's smudge and shares man's smell: the soil
Is bare now, nor can foot feel, being shod.
Gerard M. Hopkins.

Each day there will a presentation in the morning which will give material to reflect and meditate upon.
There will be an optional session in the evening where we shall be using some audio-visual input and a chance to share thoughts and reflections.

We shall spend some time enjoying the beauties of creation and being aware of how people can enhance creation and co-create with God.

Without looking for other people, or some other country to blame, we shall consider our own part in environmental degradation.

Finally we shall look at our call to work with God in responsible living as stewards of Creation.
