St Beuno's was built as a house of studies for Jesuit students in 1848.
The wide corridors were often used for prayer and exercises, particularly in wet weather.
The corridors now are well stocked with works of art, both original and reproductions to help stimulate the spirit.

The rooms are generally large and spaceous making them cool in summer and, thanks to the heating, pleasant in winter. Some of the higher bedrooms are cosy with good views, while the lower ones tend to be more generously proportioned.

Chapel Corridor

The conference room comfortably fits 50, but we have had up to 100 in for the annual Hopkins Lecture. The Common Room too can fit up to 30 or 40 people. The main Chapel with its tent and cairn altar is always open for prayer and can fit up to about 80 people for services. There are many smaller prayer spaces suitable for one or two people and the delightful Capel y Coed.
For retreatants who tire of their bedrooms there is always the Lounge, the Library or other small open spaces where a comfortable hour can be spent.

The new Art room has proved very popular. Clay, paint, and many other media are available for retreatants free of charge. For those on our programmes there is a broadband computer available to keep abreast of e-mails and a wireless connection in the Common Room if you have your own laptop.

Finally the Bookshop has a good selection of spiritual and religious books, with a particular specialisation in Ignatian Spirituality.
