Thorough Training
Loyola Hall and St Beuno's between them can offer
a thorough training to those who have experienced Ignatian Spirituality
and wish to offer spiritual guidance, individually guided retreats
or Christian discernment to others.
Both centres offer short seminars which serve as in-service training
to those involved in the fields of spiritual guidance and retreat
giving.
Practical Experience
The introductory courses of Spiritual Accompaniment
at Loyola Hall are well-taught adult education of a practical
nature with ample opportunity to learn and experiment with the skills
of spiritual guidance.
St Beuno's offers a Retreat Giving and Spiritual Direction
programme that involves the supervised giving of three retreats,
allowing participants to learn from their own experience.
Both Centres offer retreat giving experience either as a visiting
guide or on an internship to those who have
proven ability in the art of retreat giving.
Modular Programme
The Ignatian Spirituality training offered by both
centres is in modular form. Participants can choose how intensive
they wish their training to be. It can be done over many years,
or if time and money permit, may be done over a single year.
Begin with the Experience
We advise anyone interested in Ignatian Spirituality
first to experience for themselves an individually guided retreat,
either in daily life or at one of our centres. Before entering training
for spiritual guidance or retreat giving we suggest that it would
be best to experience the Full Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius
in the 30-day form, in sections or in daily life.
On the next page all the Ignatian Spirituality courses
have been brought together to make it easier to see what is available
and how they can fit together.
