If you feel the need for a few days of peace and quiet. A time to pray
in a quiet place. But you don't feel the desire to talk with a guide,
then you are most welcome to have a private retreat.
Those who come for a quiet time are welcome to participate in the retreatants'
Eucharist and are expected to respect the spirit of silence around the
house and at the meal table.
We do not offer individual guidance to those who wish to come for a
few days outside a programmed retreat, although if requested the Sacrament
of Reconciliation would be available. Please do not book a private retreat
then ask for a daily meeting with a retreat guide when you arrive.
STUDY TIME
If you wish to have a time of study in one of our bedrooms, all of which
have a decent sized desk and most have ample space to relax and study,
then you are most welcome. We have a reasonable library specialising
in Spirituality, particularly Ignatian Spirituality, with sections on
theology, religious biography and an historical collection of 'The Way',
'The Month' and 'The Tablet'. It must be remembered however, that we
usually expect guests to share with the silent meal of the retreatants.
Our Library
A quiet time is always subject to there being a suitable bedroom available.
