During November 2009 a TV programme was
filmed at St Beuno's which is to be shown in the UK on
BBC 2 in the summer of 2010. Dates for transmission of
The Big Silence is not yet fixed.
Five people were brought to St Beuno's
by the film company "Tiger Aspect" to experience
a silent, individually guided retreat.
Retreat givers were Sr Renate Düllmann O.P. from
the St Beuno's team, and members of the teams from Loyola
Hall, The Centre of Ignatian Spirituality in Glasgow and
Campion Hall, Oxford.
This was produced by the same team that brought "The
Monastery" and has the Abbot of Worth, Christopher
Jamison as the programmes' narrator.
Though the concept of silence in the
programmes may be more that of the Benedictine Monk than
the Jesuit priest, the programmes will show something
of the way that a time of quiet can enable people to re-connect
with their past and find themselves and God.
The participants are not the sort of
pious people many might expect to come on retreat.

your eyes open for 'The Big Silence'.
