The Exercises for the Contemporary Retreat Giver
December 12-16, 2010

Fr Philip Endean SJ

Whatever the setting, making and giving the Spiritual Exercises are very personal processes, shaped by the life-stories and personalitites of the individuals involved.

But what are the links between what happens in a retreat and Ignatius Loyola's text?

How should a contemporary retreat-giver be drawing on the book of the Exercises?

Pf Philip Endean SJ, from Campion Hall, Oxford, will lead an exploration of such questions by looking at various key elements in the Ignatian process through a mixture of formal inputs, case-studies and role plays.

Suggested offering 2010 £240

Philip Endean SJ

Two Experts on the Spiritual Exercises take a look at the orginal text of St Ignatius and look at what adaptations we might need to make when giving the Spiritual Exercises today. The two speakers are very different and will not be covering the same materials.

These seminars are intended for those who are involved with Ignatian Spirituality either giving retreats, in religious formation or in spiritual direction. They are not retreats and are not in silence. People who participate in the three day seminars will join a larger number of people who are involved in a three month or one month course in Ignatian Spirituality. The sharing with other participants in the seminar is a valued part of the experience.
