“My father taught me that we must listen to the stars, the moon, the wind, the animals and the trees ... The earth is speaking.” Txai Surui Cop 26
Ask the animals and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you, or speak to the earth, and it will teach you. Which of all these does not know that’s God hand has done this? In God’s hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all people. Job12: 7-19
What does it mean to know God’s hand in the creation of all things? What is it to feel the touch of God in the earth and in ourselves? God’s Earth is alive and speaks. Come and listen.
This will be a gentle, contemplative retreat in which we may spend a good few hours outdoors in the grounds and landscape of St. Beuno’s. Walking and meandering, some silence and reflective sharing together, the life of the imagination, curiosity and embodied experience, sit-spots and perhaps the occasional gathering around a woodland fire will be elements.
All are welcome! No previous retreat experience needed.
“For it is not much knowledge but the inner feeling and relish of things that fills and satisfies the soul.” St. Ignatius of Loyola [2]
