"Away in
the loveable west,
On a pastoral forehead
of Wales,
I was under a roof here, I was at rest......."
The Jesuit poet, Gerard Manley Hopkins, spent years of study
and contemplation at St Beuno's.
From its hillside vantage point with views of the mountains
of Snowdonia and the sea he was inspired to write some of his
best poetry while living in this tranquil spot in Wales.
The peace and beauty of Saint Beuno's and the North Wales countryside
has been a help for many people over the years leading them
to the Creator.
Inspired by the spirituality of Ignatius Loyola, the St Beuno's
team invite you to come away on a silent retreat, or experience
one of our programmes on Ignatian Spirituality. Come for a time
of reflection, prayer and peace; a space to sort out priorities
and find the will of God for you.
