‘Come, be with me’

It is always a joy to be able to spend time at St Beuno’s on a Friends Weekend; a privilege too, gathering with those who like me have been able to carve out a couple of days to get away. I’m so aware it’s not possible for everyone and as a group we spent time praying for all Friends not able to be with us.

‘Come, be with me’

It was like a sweet refrain through the weekend; in the meditative music chosen as we entered the retreat, the tour of the gardens and grounds, the opportunities to pray and be still in the chapels and quiet spaces.

‘Come, be with me’

A profound time was had, Finding God in Nature, sharing thoughts and insights, sensing that God was speaking to each and everyone in our varying situations.

‘Come, be with me’

A place to deepen relationships with those we have met before and the chance to make new friends. Time to share and be vulnerable, knowing that those around will take those thoughts and be praying for you.

‘Come, be with me’

To be renewed and restored, equipped and sent out once again, to be a source of light and hope by our words and actions.

May God bless each and everyone of us here to live this new year for Him.
