Arboretum

Over the last few years, we have grown a small but beautiful Arboretum of trees and ornamental shrubs in the grounds of St Beuno’s. Many of you have kindly donated to plant a tree, each one recorded in our Arboretum register. We have decided to move to the next phase of the Arboretum. For the time being, we are not planting any more trees so we can consolidate the site, ensuring all the trees are properly established, mapped out, and making sure we have the time and materials to care for and nurture the trees.

Donate to the upkeep of our gardens and grounds

Many of us have had moving experiences in the gardens of St Beuno’s and have experienced God through His beautiful creation. To better care for the wildlife that St Beuno’s is home to, we have stopped using chemical weedkillers, which is great for biodiversity, but means that maintaining the grounds is more laborious and the weeds need greater attention as they have grown rather tall.

We need materials such as matting, posts, guards, soil, and machinery. We also need to repair the fountain and some new fencing in the square garden and the fields.

Gardening retreats

Our new gardening retreats are now available for 2026! After so many of our retreatants have enjoyed the gardening volunteer sessions, we are running new gardening themed retreats to spend personal quiet time with God and help the Head Gardener for a few hours a day.
