You might be someone who has been a Christian for many years and is now looking to deepen your prayer, or you maybe someone who has encountered Ignatian Spirituality in your Church, chaplaincy or on the internet and are seeking more. You may also be new to any form of spirituality but are curious and searching for a way to explore and deepen their experience of God in a Christian context.
Here at St Beuno’s we offer several different types of retreats: -
Individually guided retreats (IGR) are ones in which you can step away from the noise of a busy world to focus on your relationship with God. You’ll be accompanied by a trained spiritual guide who will draw on the wisdom of St Ignatius’s Spiritual Exercises (the founder of the Jesuits’ core spiritual work which is the foundation of all we do here). You will be helped towards a personal encounter and deepening relationship with God.
Themed retreats can take very varied themes and formats. Some of our themed retreats are based around: art, walking, mindfulness, poetry & nature. Themed retreats usually involve: workshops or input from facilitator, time to socialise with others, times for sharing, time for silent prayer.
We also offer the full Spiritual Exercises retreat for those who are already familiar with Ignatian spirituality. St. Ignatius’s Spiritual Exercises are based on his experience of God in prayer and serve as a guide for a retreat which can help you to pray. The Exercises are a time-honoured and powerful way for you to deepen your relationship with God.
